In the story, We know that Mrs. Mallard was afflicted with a heart trouble and that everyone around her was worried about her capability to handle the news. When her sister and family friend discover Mr. Mallard got killed in a train accident, the take time and gently tell Mrs. Mallard about what happened to the husband. At first, she was so sad about the death of her husband, however, she realizes the she’s free and relief. But when she finally comes out of her room, newly resolved and has her life to live as a independent women. Mrs. Mallard and her sister went downstairs and suddenly, Mr. Mallard comes in, and that’s when she saw her husband standing at the door and realizes that her husband has survived the train wreck accident, and learn that her freedom is gone and that then she has tremendous shock and dies from a heart attack. The doctor says that Mrs. Mallard died from a heart attack that caused by the “joy” but it is so ironic that Mrs. Mallard dies, not because of the news that she was told about the accident of her husband but from the realization of disappointment that his husband did not actually died from the train wreck.
