THE STORY OF AN HOUR

In the story, We know that Mrs. Mallard was afflicted with a heart trouble and that everyone around her was worried about her capability to handle the news. When her sister and family friend discover Mr. Mallard got killed in a train accident, the take time and gently tell Mrs. Mallard about what happened to the husband. At first, she was so sad about the death of her husband, however, she realizes the she’s free and relief. But when she finally comes out of her room, newly resolved and has her life to live as a independent women. Mrs. Mallard and her sister went downstairs and suddenly, Mr. Mallard comes in, and that’s when she saw her husband standing at the door and realizes that her husband has survived the train wreck accident, and learn that her freedom is gone and that then she has tremendous shock and dies from a heart attack. The doctor says that Mrs. Mallard died from a heart attack that caused by the “joy” but it is so ironic that Mrs. Mallard dies, not because of the news that she was told about the accident of her husband but from the realization of disappointment that his husband did not actually died from the train wreck.

KATE CHOPIN

Kate Chopin experienced much lose in her life losing her sisters, brothers, and father while she was a child. Her parents had to have been distraught to out-live that many children. I can only imagine that they were hardened from such a distressing experience. While I have not personally lost many people in my life, I do love many people in my life and can be certain that the lose of so many people, especially during childhood, made a huge impact on her writing. She really had no choice but to be a strong, independent female considering the kind of life struggles she suffered. She was raised and mentored by strong, independent women whom encouraged her to be like them. This kind of encouragement from those women was certainly beneficial to her since she had to eventually run her late husband’s company by herself. Her writing encourages women to break the mold of what was expected of them during Chopin’s time and whom better to encourage them than a woman who was raised to be a leader.

MEMORABLE CHARACTER (MOVIE)

My favorite movie character of all time is Darryl from “The Walking Dead” series. Darryl is very rough around the edges and has a hard exterior but is soft inside. He is this way because of his childhood and upbringing which was to say the least abusive. He has good morals and character and is loyal to those he loves even if they do not deserve it. I feel like I can relate to him in many ways. He is the only character in the series that never falls in love or even attempts to be in a relationship with anyone. He forms friendships but never opens up about himself and is very self-sufficient. He has learned from life experiences that he has to take care of himself because he was never able to depend on anyone but himself. While I am not the kind of person to never attempt to be successful forming a relationship I can relate with Darryl that it would save a lot of heartache and stress to just be alone and not let emotional relationships get in the way of success.

HURSTON QOUTES

Zora Neale Hurston’s quote, “If you want that good feeling that comes from doing things for other folks then you have to pay for it in abuse and misunderstanding” is a powerful statement. I can understand the feelings behind this statement from my own experiences in life because I am the kind of person that enjoys helping others. I think that the world needs caring people, but she is correct, as far as I am concerned, that in the process of caring and helping we make it easy for others that do not feel this way to take advantage of our kindness. Many times caring people give too much of their time and energy to the people they love and not enough energy and time to take care of themselves.

A GOOD MAN IS HARD TO FIND

The last sentence is about misfits his the excellent person, in the story seems his the good man because of all of the things that he acted, to the family — moreover, the things that how he showed to the people he encountered. Instead of just stealing things out from the family he showed the care, even he made a lousy decision for doing to kill them, but the story explained that he has a good personality out of him. Misfit is a good man among all the people in the story because cares about the people that he going to kill or burn. Even the grandmother have noticed about misfits personalities on how he was showing or acting when he going to kill the family.

Imotion That Inspires You

“The Scarlet Ibis” evokes many different emotions from the reader. For me the brother admitting he was ashamed of and sometimes mean to his disabled brother is the most interesting of these emotions and they are very well explained and therefor tolerated and understood by the reader. When we first hear of the older brother in the story feeling this way and treating his brother badly at times we think he must me bad for thinking this way but after reading the story we realize that had he not felt this way Doodle would have never lived the life he did and never experience life like he did with his brother. Because Doodle’s brother was ashamed of his disability, he was more determined to help him overcome it and while it seems bad to be ashamed of someone it was necessary in this situation and in the end beneficial.

BarnLoft

In the story, “The Scarlet Ibis,” the barn loft is my favorite example of symbolism because, to me, it symbolizes Doodle’s ability to overcome obstacles that he was facing. Doodle’s brother was ashamed of his disability and worked very hard to help him overcome those disabilities because he was ashamed to have a brother who would never learn to walk. In the barn loft of their home the family stored all of the items they purchased for Doodle such as the coffin they thought he would need as a baby, and the wagon his brother pulled him around in since he could not walk. These items are a symbol of Doodle’s ability to overcome the obstacles in life that others thought he would never overcome.

Creulest Thing You Did to A Family Member.

A Good Man is Hard to Find

In the story, “A Good Man is Hard to Find”, I think had the Grandmother never said to the robbers that she recognized them the family may have not been killed. After the family went on a detour down a dirt road so that the Grandmother could see a home where a suiter, she once knew used to live they had an automobile accident. Once they got out of the car and decided no one was injured they were happy to see a car coming toward them. The family’s car was not drivable after the accident and they were somewhat stranded so they were happy to see what could have been help on the way. Once the occupants of the car approached the family the Grandmother immediately announced that she recognized the men as the bandits that they had heard so many bad stories about recently. Once, the bandits realized the family knew who they were they decided to kill them and leave them dead rather than take the chance of them alerting the police to their location.

A Good Man is Hard to Find

So many twists and turns in this story. I feel like had the family listened to the grandmother’s advice they would still be alive but also had the grandmother kept her mouth shut they could still be alive. Obviously, had they traveled to Tennessee like she asked they would have never been in Florida, to begin with. Also, had the grandmother not tricked her son into joyriding through the countryside and her blurting out that she recognized the Misfits they may also still be alive. The author’s descriptions make the reader feel as if they are in the story. I certainly wasn’t expecting a car crash or the Misfits to show up. If the grandmother had stayed home and not blurted out the criminal’s identity the family would still be alive arguing about where to vacation next year but instead, many unfortunate events happened along the way that leads to all of the family being murdered.

Grandmother

As I grow up to my 3rd family, I never meet my blood Grandmother, but I just heard from my blood siblings that she just passed away four months ago, and I ask about from her. As they told me she is the worst grandmother in the world because she only accepts her grandchildren if you here kids have more money than she can proud of. However, in my 3rd family where I grew up my grandmother that I used she is the best she’ll do everything for her grandchildren to have what they ask for. She does everything that makes her grandchildren to the Empress. She accepts us whatever we are either we are empty-handed family or rich but she proud whatever comes on the way and she ready to face and take it. She is the opposites grandmother to my blood grandmothers’ attitude. For being how and what they are on their selves and on how they picture their life and on how they handle it.

Favorite Movie, Novel, or Story With a Surprise Ending

I am not a big fan of any movies, novel or any stories. I spend most of my time traveling more than watching movies, reading the book. I mostly enjoyed myself watching cartons: example, Mr. Bean, Oggy, and the Cockroaches, etc. I cannot share any story that has a surprising ending. However, mostly the movies that I have watched and at the end of the film the expectation that I have expected is different, and that film only makes me disappointed. However, most of the time that I have to watch is a cartoon because most cartoon movies have the perfect ending stories example, defeating evil and having a happy ending in the fairy tale. Most cartoon movies I find it funny and relaxing especially on the very big days.
