About Me

I was born in the Philippine Islands but grow up in different countries. I spend most of my time traveling to other countries or driving around the U.S.A learning new things and earning a unique experience. During my free time from school and work. I love trying new things as long as it would not cause any danger for myself. I prefer being in the cold weather than the hot weather. I like to be at the beach but only for a visit not for living. I love to meet new people and make friends that can add new experience in my life, and I can share my experience. For now, I am a full-time student and working full-time. I am trying to pursue my career if I can.

Favorite Children’s Story

The Ugly Duckling

The Ugly Duckling was a story of embracing one’s self and accepting flaws and imperfections. Sometimes, the imperfect thing makes someone perfect. This story was about a swan who was born from the family of ducks. He was cast out of the pond and referred as an “ugly duckling” because of his different appearance. One day, he saw the flock of white birds and wanted to be as beautiful as they are. After a cold winter, the ugly duckling realized that he was not a duck after seeing his reflection in the water. He was one of the most beautiful swans in the pond.

I was lucky because my adopted family was very nice. When I read this book, I realized that not all adopted children were as blessed as I am. When I was young, I never thought of looking for my biological mother because I was happy of where I was, however as I started to become an adult, I began to question myself of who I was. I realized that my life would be incomplete without knowing my biological family. I could relate to The Ugly Duckling story because of my life experiences. I realized that knowing my roots, where I came from and my family, I was able to find the missing puzzle piece of my life.

The Ugly Duckling also helped me accept who I am. Being a Filipino does not make me any different from my siblings, colleagues, and friends. Although I was born short with tan skin color, I would say that I possess different skills like those that other people have. Being a minority does not mean that we do not matter in society. Accepting myself and making my life better made me become a resilient person that I am today.

Biggest Pet Peeve About Social Media.

Social media has become just one more way to waste time. Scrolling through Facebook or Instagram, for most people, consumes hours of their time and attention throughout the day. Spending time to take and post a picture or search for a meme adds to the time wasted by social media. Today, the society that filled with distractions, and most people do not need any more distraction in their lives. The employer is also taking advantage of job candidate’s social media content to screen for employment. It allows employers to judge what an employee’s professional life and work ethic will be as if from what they see on social media and in many cases, the two are not parallel. Too much time that lost, and too much judgment that passed on social media content. As a society, we need to unplug, experience life in reality and interact in person in the real world just as much as the virtual world.
